Dana Point
The city of Dana Point was named after Richard Henry Dana, Jr, the author of the classic sea journal, Two Years before the Mast. Dana Point has approximately seven miles of coastal bluffs and rolling hills along the Pacific Ocean. The most unique of these bluffs is known as the "Headlands" which overlooks Dana Point Harbor and the Ocean Institute. The harbor has more than 2500 boat slips along with many restaurants and shops. Doheny State Park is one of California's most popular beaches, featuring camping, picknicking, swimming, biking, surfing and more. There are more than 1400 hotel rooms in the city ranging from economy to luxury which includes St.Regis Resort/Monarch Golf Links & The famous Ritz Carlton Hotel over looking the blue Pacific Ocean.
